GIVING CIRCLE OF LOWER WESTCHESTER GRANTS

OUR PROCESS

The heart of the  GCLW’s work takes place in the Grant Committee.  All GCLW members are invited to participate on the committee or to join us on site visits..

Grant applications are distributed to front line hunger relief organizations based on a list of organizations that meet the standards of Feeding Westchester.  To be considered for a grant, each organization must comply with all standards governing the safe handling and distribution of food.  The Grant Committee reviews applications to select a list of semi-finalists.  When necessary, site visits are made to see applicants’ programs in action and assess impact.  Grant committee makes its recommendations to the board and to the membership for their approval.  Grants are made in the form of a financial credit for purchase of food at  Feeding Westchester.
